Positive drivers for wellbeing include leadership; culture and workplace behaviour; the design and organisation of work; and communication, engagement and connectedness. The symptoms of poor workplace wellbeing include fatigue and unacceptable behaviour

Every organisation has its own culture. Culture is simply defined as the beliefs and underlying values that determine how we do what we do; how we behave to each other and how we carry out our work.

This section covers how we connect with our people in solving problems to improve our organisations and providing them with the information they need to thrive in their jobs.

Work practices and workplace design contribute significantly to our ability to work both productively and free from harm. Under the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) employers and employees share a duty for the wellbeing of the workforce.

Leadership at every level is a key factor in shaping organisational culture. Commitment to wellbeing is demonstrated with leaders’ role modelling resilience, commitment to wellbeing and not tolerating inappropriate behaviour.
